Job Role: Director Data & AI

Key Job Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a high-performing data engineering team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
• Collaborate with the sales team to understand client requirements and contribute to pre-sales activities, including solution design, scoping, and estimation.
• Design and architect scalable and efficient data engineering solutions for data analytics, data visualization, and artificial intelligence and machine learning projects.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL processes, data warehouses, and other data integration solutions.
• Ensure the integrity, availability, and security of data by implementing appropriate data governance and quality standards.
• Collaborate with cr3oss-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders, to align on project objectives and deliverables.
• Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to ensure successful project delivery within defined parameters.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data engineering, data analytics, and artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Identify areas for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the data engineering team.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in a data analytics or AI/ML-focused organization with at least 4 years of experience in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of data engineering concepts, including data modeling, ETL processes, data integration, and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, Apache Spark, Hadoop, cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
• Experience in leading pre-sales activities, including solution design, scoping, and estimation.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence and machine learning concepts and their application in data engineering projects.
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Strong commitment to continuous learning and keeping up with industry trends and best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a consulting or client-facing role, delivering data engineering solutions to external clients.
• Advanced certifications in data engineering, data science, or cloud computing.
